After selling KITT from the hit show Knight Rider, it seems we will be seeing a reincarnation of KITT in the big screen.
The 80s fads are catching up on us. I’m not complaining though as long as they don’t destroy my childhood memories. Come to think of it, a cool talking car in the 80s was really awesome. But in this day and age, can they pull it off? We already had Fast and the Furious movies, Dukes of Hazard, Starsky and Hutch, etc. How will Knight Rider be any more different from theirs? Put and AI on the car and let it say one liner witty lines?
It is also rumored that the producers want Ben Affleck portray Michael Knight.
In a span of one month, 24 has been parodied by 2 famous cartoon shows.
I liked the SouthPark episode better than Simpsons’. Though Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub guest stars in Simpsons as Jack and Chloe (their 24 characters), South Park has a better parody. I especially liked the times when Cartman says “Damn it!” ala Jack Bauer.
As an additional treat, when South Park aired their episode (which has something to do with a nuke bomb hidden in Hillary’s snatch), 24 producers actually gave Matt Parker and Trey Stone – creators of Southpark – a real prop nuke suitcase bomb.
If you want to watch the two episodes, search Snuke for Southpark’s episode while Simpsons’ is season 18 episode 21.
I just got the latest Wizard magazine and the issue is packed with information regarding the hottest shows these days. It is no secret that the creator of Lost and Heroes are good friends and somehow their respective shows touch on the other show in one way or the other.
Though Lost is slowly losing it’s audience share in the US, I’m still faithfully following it. I just want to know how it will end. It’s been dragging since the ‘others’ showed up. On the otherhand, Heroes is slowly gaining popularity. It’s the smallville of 2007. Though the concept is somewhat similar with X-Men (both the movie versions and the comics story), the way the show presents it is very refreshing.
Another sought after show (albeit a movie version) is the 4th installment of Harry Potter.
I’m pretty sure everyone is waiting for the Order of the Phoenix. I can’t make up my mind if I should be excited or not. With Pen in Sydney, I have no reason to go out and watch a movie just for the sake of it. It would totally be different if I’d watch the movie with Pen.

I surveyed a few episodes of this 80s show. The wooden humor is just hilarious! They do short sketches that could be anything from a parody to their own original gags. I was wondering which clip I would feature here, and decided on these:
Standing Here: The most hilarious sketch I have seen to date. Hugh is so annoyingly funny! He plays a man apparently as a witness in some incident and is being interviewed on camera. It doesn’t play out so well for the man.
Too Long Johnny: This has got to be my favorite! You see Hugh Laurie playing slide guitar, and singing a bluesy song.
Hugh’s First Kiss: This is a funny way of Hugh telling how a first kiss happens hehe. So you think he’s about to say something about kissing his uncle now eh? But listen on and find out… Continue Reading »
I took a break from a long afternoon of pencil-pushing. I was told that it is good for the mind to focus even on times of relaxation, rather than let it wander aimlessly amidst an activity as knitting. Well, I guess there is no harm in watching TV then!
But since I’ve been overloaded with the current TV series the past weeks, I wanted to see something else. I spent 10 minutes finding something good to watch and found Visionaries again. I’m sure Ajay has this stashed somewhere, but seeing I can only browse online for old shows like this, YouTube thankfully did not let me down this time.
It is a time when magic is more powerful than science, and only those who control magic control destiny… They, are the Visionaries.
Aussie Visa Information – Di ko napanuod to.
So yeah, I was watching some 90s TV shows in YouTube, one of which was That 70s Show. So high time I brought good ‘ol Topher to the spotlight.
Topher Grace (b. 1978) will be starring alongside Tobey Maguire in the next Spiderman film installment. It’s amazing how these two look alike in some angles. Though now he looks a tiny bit like Brendan Fraser… don’t you think? The geeky frame he used to sport is shedding off too.
Topher was initially recognized as Eric Forman in That 70s Show in the early 90s. I would chance upon it on some weeknights in ABC5. Catchy novel show at that time. Prior to That 70s Show, the only experience under his belt were school plays and some theater.
I love Topher’s dry presence in comedy. He did a cameo in Ocean’s Eleven (and Twelve) as himself. Remember that scene where Pitt’s character is giving poker lessons to a group of young actors? Present there were Topher, Joshua Jackson, Holly Mary Combs and one other guy I don’t know (they were all playing themselves)… Then Clooney’s character comes and plays with them? Topher is too funny. It cracks me up seeing the fans after that scene go gaga over Topher like “Mr. Popularity”, while Brad Pitt walked out from the club unnoticed.
He appeared in the film In Good Company with Scarlett Johanssen and Dennis Quaid. Not a big hit, but a decent enough movie. He looked a bit more serious here, but his boyish appeal doesn’t shake off at all. I guess that was the point of his casting. He also had a tiny role as fiance to Julia Stiles’ character in Mona Lisa Smile.
Eric Forman is one of my favorite TV characters. ‘Twas part of that TV phase in parallel with F.R.I.E.N.D.S. He refused to continue for an 8th season (or was it 7th?) as he wanted to focus now on his film career. Ashton Kutcher followed suit.
Ho-kay, 1 day past at mali na ako agad. Out-of-sorts sya, kitang-kita na ninenerbiyos. And being so close to losing, just as it happened with Murray the other night, how can he face Federer in that form? Turned out Gonzalez was the better player last night. Lightning tennis! From the baseline, from the net, and that blasted chase for the ball was fantastic! (In the youtube clip below, see this game shot between timestamps 7:00 and 7:40, played 3x yata) Just a few nights ago he broke a nation’s heart by eliminating the last Aussie Lleyton Hewitt.
Matalo kaya ni Gonzales si Haas, at makatapat si Federer? O baka pati naman yung match with Roddick mamaya “surprise, surprise” na naman! Since watching tennis matches all in a row is new territory for me, this is really interesting to see. Ha! Maaga na naman ako uuwi mamaya.
Courtesy Ch7: Natuklasan ng ch7 na naka-thongs kasi si Rafa kaya sya laging nagkakawedgie. Susmaryosep, tama ba namang pag-usapan tuwing umaga?
================ updated: 4 p.m.: Ano ba?? Mali na naman ako… Serena Williams defeated Nicole! Maria’s game ongoing…
================ updated again the next day: Ok na si Maria. Si Roger na lang (talo si Andy!), kunsino man manalo between Haas and Gonzo. May kontrobersya pa tungkol sa pandaraya ng grupo ni Serena dahil sa attempt na silawin si Nicole with a watch. Di ako makakapanuod ngayon. Aussie day! Out to the streets to celebrate =)
================ updated Saturday: So ayan, comeback na si Serena as rank 14. Mukhang ninerbiyos si Maria sa kanya. Sweep ba naman. Iyak ako. Hehe.
================ updated Sunday: It will all be over by tonight. 4 hours ’til the finals of men’s singles. It’s likely to be a Fed express night, which makes me root for the Bull. Go Gonzo! =)
9.22 pm: Tight game!!! 96 minutes gone by. Go Speedy Gonzalez!
10.07 pm: Roger Federer has done it again, straight sets. Sparing a thought for Fernando Gonzalez, he is still amazing. Good fight, brilliant match. That about wraps it up for the Aussie Open this year. More titles to come!
