Mossy Forest

August 29th, 2009

Di mo man silip ang langit

Strawberry Fields…. forever

August 25th, 2009

Let me take you down

’cause I’m going to Strawberry Fields.

Nothing is real

and nothing to get hungabout.

Strawberry Fields forever.

Living is easy with eyes closed,

misunderstanding all you see.

It’s getting hard to be someone but it all works out,

it doesn’t matter much to me.

Strawberry Fields forever

Cameron Highlands

August 21st, 2009

Me and BFF Don will be off to Cameron Highlands at Malaysia later tonight. It will be an 8 hour bus ride from Singapore to the mountain regions. We’ll be staying at Strawberry Park Resort. As far as I can tell, it’s a Baguio-like scenery there with strawberry plantations and tea factories all over the place. Hopefully there will be no rains when we are there and the weather will permit us to shoot the outdoors.

Flight back to SG

August 13th, 2008

I flew back to SG via British Airways. Di gano kagandahan yung service nila unlike Qantas (though medyo katakot lumipad with Qantas last few weeks gawa ng mga technical malfunctions ng planes nila).

So ayun, sa BA ako nasakay.

St. Mary’s Cathedral

August 6th, 2008

St. Mary's Cathedral

One of the best churches we’ve been into. We heard mass here last August 2 in time for Pen’s bday. The 6PM mass was like a Simbang Gabi in the Philippines. It was already dark and cold! (cue “malamig ang simoy ng hangin…”). Pen and I were both freezing inside the church. I was only wearing a black long sleeves polo while Pen was I think on a 4 layers of clothing.

Singapore Chinatown

May 10th, 2008

In any country, there is always a ‘chinatown’. Expectedly, there is also one here in Singapore. I went with fellow pinoy shooters last May 1 for a walking tour. Here are some pictures I had:

Chinese Temple in Chinatown. One of the majestic attraction in the Chinatown stretch.

Streetsigns. Singapore is very tourist friendly. A map and a sense of direction is all you need. There are street signs everywhere.

Chinatown street. It’s not as festive when we went there. I’ve been told that the best time to go here is during Chinese New Year (why of course!).

Pylon Lookout

January 25th, 2008

When I was in Sydney, Pen brought me to the Pylon Lookout. It is that tower beside the majestic Harbour Bridge where you could get a good vantage view of the Opera House and Circular Quay.

You could see the Opera House from a bird’s eye view perspective. There are ferries and speedboats passing by which added to the lake’s activities.

Perth, Australia

January 23rd, 2008

Since I came in and out from Perth going to Sydney, it follows that I have a Perth-stamp in my passport. No proof that I was in Sydney. :(

Perth International Airport

Perth International Airport is nice but not that nice compared to Sydney’s. Singapore still tops the list and NAIA is waaaay below. Even our Centennial Airport is worse than Perth’s Domestic Airport and Singapore’s Budget Terminal.

Perth International Airport

Anyway, when I was in Perth, I thought I had 2 hours to kill for my flight. So I went around and took some photos. Little did I know that Perth is on daylight saving time! So when checked in I was thinking I still have about 1 and a half hour wait inside.

I flew with Qantas. The Aussie airline.
Qantas

It was an enjoyable experience. Nakaka-bore lang talaga ang long flights. Food was good and I drank so many drinks (juices mostly) kaya wiwi ako ng wiwi. The flight from SG-Perth and Perth-SG has a personal entertainment system. You can choose your own channel to watch.

Qantas
I rode an Airbus 320 and Boeing 767. Or is it the other way around? I can’t remember properly.

I also had an Amazing Race Experience during my first flight to Perth. My Singapore-Perth leg was delayed for almost 3hours! My Perth-Sydney leg on the other hand was on time. So I had to run from check-in counter in Perth to the plane’s door! I was even told to give my luggage directly to the conveyor belt otherwise it will be left behind.

Thoughts aside

The travel lodge is specifically designed for the travelers who want to get shelter for a while. The reservation of hotels is charged variedly according to the standard of different locations and hotels. The cheap flights are managed by the different travel agencies who have direct contacts with the different airlines. The car rental services are offered in the discounted rates by the different car rental service providers. The luxurious cruises are available in the discounted rates for the vacationers who want to enjoy cruise trips.

Last few days in Sydney

January 3rd, 2008

Sigh.

Counting down the days til I go back to Singapore. How I will miss the sights here in Sydney. Sydney is a very beautiful place. Expensive but beautiful.

I’m pretty sure I’ll be back here before 2008 expires.
