I enrolled an account at Google Analytics to see an overview of our traffic here at janep.
Take a look at the screenshot:

I was quite surprised that I have a hit from Europe, India and Africa. I know for sure that I have 2 readers from US (that’s you huntherx & dax). But are you 2 state-hopping? There’s a bunch of dots both in the west coast and the east coast. I have no idea where the hits come from. Must be from the Twilight Theme I’m using since the author linked me from her site.
How about playing a game and tell me the countries/places where the hits are coming from?

I hope the color scheme is not too gayish. I’m trying to combine Pen’s color with mine (purple and blue respectively).
Hopefully, the site will render well in IE now that I’ve fixed the sidebar being shown downstairs after the last entry. Thanks to Krischan for that. Krischan made the recent-comments-plugin shown at the sidebar which causes the layout problems.
Much thanks also to Aubrey for her Twilight Theme and for fixing a minor but that I reported.
If you notice anything wrong please do inform me. Any comments are much appreciated.

Apologies if you are seeing funky formatting in the page.
I’m trying to do a live temporary design. You see, the previous template used here was not rendering well in IE so I have to figure out it’s error.
So while fixing that, I’m just putting a temporary layout here first.

Since I’ll be on a new workplace come Oct17, I’ll probably be laying off awhile from posting. I’ll still take peak though. For sure, I’ll still have a net connection over there but I guess it’s not nice to jump into the web on my first day (or first week) of work.
I’m in the process of burning my digital files gathered from the old workplace. I still have around 20gb of files to be burned. Lotsa mp3′s, media files, digital pictures, intallers *wink*.

Finally got my wordpress.com invite today.
As you may have known, we’re are using the WordPress application for this collaborative blog site. I’m also encouraging my friends to sign up for a hosting account with a PHP/MySQL support so that they can use the software. When ePinoy went kaput sometime ago, Noims and Jie were left astray. With no dedicated hosting account, they cannot use wordpress. Jie went back to blogger and Noims on her xanga.
Now that wordpress jumped into the blog hosting service, they launched wordpress. To date, wordpress is by invitation only. I signed up the moment I heard it’s inception and crossed my fingers to receive an invite. I signed up two different email addresses and for each activated wordpress site, I also get an invitation to give away.
Serious bloggers are pitting this wordpress to the established blogger.com (which is incidentally powered by google). I’ve tried blogger.com for sometime before I found out this wordpress application. And I have to say that I’m very much pleased to jump ship. It’s a little hard to setup wordpress for the uber beginner folks but with wordpress, even the casual bloggers can enjoy the rich features of wordpress.
I’ve activated my wordpress account and you can find it here. I still don’t know what to make use of it though.

As I have not been using IE as my main browser anymore, I didn’t know that my theme is fuxored when using IE.
If you?re reading this entry via IE, chance are the sidebar is waay down there (after the last entry). I still can?t figure this out ? this also happens with Pen?s page. Aaargh. IE you are one lousy software.
So IE users, if you shall stick with your lousy browser please bear with this broken layout. I haven?t got much time to fix this yet. Better yet, how about considering Mozilla Firefox as your primary browser?

Hi folks.
After sometime of gut-wrenching thinking of how to make use of this domain, Pen and I finally decided to use our trusty ol’ WordPress.
You may have seen the previous incarnetions of this page. I initially tried to use Drupal but the there were not much themes around to play with. I tried to use it and shrug off some aesthetic concerns but I have no time to overhaul the theme that I want. Don’t get me wrong, Drupal is a great CMS tool. TWIT is even using it.
Next I tried the Mambo system. Mambo has tons of great themes. So many that you would want to build every theme to your site. Problem I had with Mambo is that it was ‘too bulky’ for the purpose of this site. Great components, great plugins, great themes but it was too much. I admit, if I ever push through with Mambo, it will be a pain in administering it. Oh, another reason I dropped Mambo is because their themes/layouts are still in table‘d format. CSS is the way to go now baby.
So there. Here is the final product. WordPress still gets my vote.
I hope you’ll not get tired of visiting the site even though Pen and I still maintain separate blogs.
See you around kids.
