Adidas Sale

May 26th, 2008

The Great Singapore Sale ’08 officially kicked off last May 23. Ang una kong pinuntahan ay ang Adidas Warehouse Sale. Bagsak presyo ang mga apparel nila. Yung mga dating 50sgd, naging 15sgd na lang ~1,500 pesos naging 450pesos!

There were shoes, bags, shirts, pants, socks, even golf clubs! I managed to buy 5 shirts. Isa lang ang para sa akin. Yung iba pampasalubong. Nakabili rin ako ng bag na pwede kong gamitin as my laptop bag.

The Great Singapore Sale has officially started.

This morning, I went to Singapore Expo for the Adidas warehouse sale and the Robinsons sale. Managed to grab four shirts from Adidas and a good deal for a luggage at Robinsons.

Singapore Chinatown

May 10th, 2008

In any country, there is always a ‘chinatown’. Expectedly, there is also one here in Singapore. I went with fellow pinoy shooters last May 1 for a walking tour. Here are some pictures I had:

Chinese Temple in Chinatown. One of the majestic attraction in the Chinatown stretch.

Streetsigns. Singapore is very tourist friendly. A map and a sense of direction is all you need. There are street signs everywhere.

Chinatown street. It’s not as festive when we went there. I’ve been told that the best time to go here is during Chinese New Year (why of course!).

Singapore Flyer

Singapore Flyer

First time to shoot the infamous Singapore Flyer. Big Ferris Wheel here in Singapore. Woke up early with the shooting friends to catch a glimpse of the sunrise but it was too cloudy to take a decent picture.

One year na ko

April 25th, 2008

AJMy official last entry from Pinas before I moved here and my first entry here in Singapore.

The first year is not a rollercoaster ride that I expected it would be. Surprisingly, everything went fine. Much thanks to my cousin Nandy and wife Cia for adopting me for two weeks while I was waiting to transfer to my condo.

So for the record, I stepped foot into Singapore since Apr 29 and started work on May 2 2007. I have been in the same company and just renewed my work pass for another year. The only thing that saddens me is that I haven’t been able to save as much as I have hoped for. That goes without saying, that I have been spending and enjoying life. I’ve been to Australia, brought Pen here twice, went back to the Philippines once, brought a DSLR and some lens, paid off loans and some other things that needed money to enjoy. No regrets though.

A view of our condo.

Been staying in the same condo for a year now. Friends keep on telling us that we have a great deal with our current condo. With the rents going up with no end in sight, we are currently secured with a 2 yr contract at a ludicrous cheap price. Housemate and I are praying and hoping that we can finish the contract and the owner won’t sell-off.

Cheers to me that I have secured a spot here in the IT outsourcing country.

Singapore Remembrance

December 18th, 2007

Before I hop to Sydney tomorrow, let me share this photos taken from Underwater World in Sentosa and Night Safari

There was this blue screen in Underwater World. Taking your picture and doing wacky poses is free but you have to buy the print if you want something to take home with you. We bought both poses we did. :D
Underwater World

Night Safari. This one is rather different. There was a guy who suddenly stopped us in our way and pointed us to the wall so he could take our picture. Then he waved us away to get the next people’s pictures. Parang assembly line. Hehe

Singapore Zoo

October 25th, 2007

We haven’t shared the Singapore Zoo experience we had here. I uploaded the photos sometime last month I think but Pen procrastinated as usual (tee-hee).

So, here are some pics we wanted to share (hopefully Pen will add some comments and side remarks on this entry).

The Singapore Zoo!
Singapore Zoo

There are basically 3 animal park here in Singapore – Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari and the Singapore Zoo. Yeah, we went to all three – on different days. One cannot complete the three zoos in just one deal.

Obviously, Jurong Bird Park is exclusive for birds, Night Safari is for the nocturnal animals and the Singapore Zoo is for all others that doesn’t fit the first two. It’s all good nonetheless but Pen and I ranked it the last among the three.

There’s a tram ride within the zoo itself but we felt like walking the whole day. There were trinkles of rain but not really pouring down.

AJ at Singapore Botanical Garden

October 1st, 2007

Had a great time with fellow Pinoy photography enthusiasts here in Singapore when we held a shoot at Botanical Garden. We had a morning shoot that lingered until around 4pm. They started with macro shoot at 7am. I arrived around 10am just in time while they were wrapping up their macro gear. Next up was the IR shooting. As I didn’t have both equipments, I busied myself shooting the surrounding.

It was a walkathon around the garden. I was told that we didn’t even reach the halfway of the garden with all that walk.

It’s a date: Sentosa Part 3

September 23rd, 2007

*Part 1 is here while Part 2 is here.*

It’s getting late after watching the dolphin show. Pen and I are figuring out where to head to next. Well actually, we are looking for the nearest place where we could eat.

Lantern Festival @ Chinese Garden

September 23rd, 2007

Just got back from the Lantern Festival together with friends from former work in the Philippines. This year’s theme is ‘Underwater Adventure’. Lanterns of all shapes and sizes are underwater creatures.
