The Great Singapore Sale has officially started.
This morning, I went to Singapore Expo for the Adidas warehouse sale and the Robinsons sale. Managed to grab four shirts from Adidas and a good deal for a luggage at Robinsons.

From wikipedia:
In infrared photography, the film or image sensor used is sensitive to infrared light. The part of the spectrum used is referred to as near-infrared to distinguish it from far-infrared, which is the domain of thermal imaging. Wavelengths used for photography range from about 700 nm to about 900 nm. Usually an “infrared filter” is used; this lets infrared (IR) light pass through to the camera but blocks all or most of the visible light spectrum (and thus looks black or deep red).
When these filters are used together with infrared-sensitive film or sensors, very interesting “in-camera effects” can be obtained; false-color or black-and-white images with a dreamlike or sometimes lurid appearance known as the “Wood Effect.”
Here is my try (image from Teejay). This is the original unprocessed images straight from the camera with IR filter:

And here are the processed pictures done in Photoshop:

First time to shoot the infamous Singapore Flyer. Big Ferris Wheel here in Singapore. Woke up early with the shooting friends to catch a glimpse of the sunrise but it was too cloudy to take a decent picture.

Did a quick image editing in Photoshop. Trying out the out-of-bounds approach.
Sometimes I really like to invest time and effort in doing image editing and manipulation. Time is not on my side on this one. I can only open up my PS whenever I have spare time. Not to mention that my laptop’s resolution is low and not calibrated properly. I guess I have to wait if I can buy a MacBook in the near future.

Props to my good ol’ buddies from college for taking time to meet with us (me and my sisters) for a practice shoot inside the UP Diliman Campus. Even though Ray is already a pro in terms of photography, he made time to shoot with us in UP. I started off clicking my camera within the Film Center Area. I had 2 cameras with me that day so I lent Rex the 350D with the tele lens while I use the 400D with 50mm lens. Ray enjoyed his new second hand BGE3 I brought from Singapore.

The city circle streets: We walked from St James Station to David Jones, and to Martin Place (where the fountain and city christmas tree is), past Queen Victoria Building (QVB) near Town Hall, to Darling Harbour, through to Sussex Street, stopped for Maccers (McDonalds) and back to Hyde Park. This walk was all because we had time to kill before the mass in St Mary’s Cathedral.

After the mass, we followed the World Youth Cross procession to Hyde Park, and stuck around for a while listening to christmas carols. Ajay took photos of the tiny Catholic crowd that gathered.

Why bunjee when you can simply jump? Ajay does not simply traipse around Sydney and its suburbs, but puts an exclamation point in each landmark by springing up as high as he could.

The large metal ball in UNSW in Kensington, Martin Place, near the War Memorial in Southern end of Hyde Park, St. Mary’s Cathedral, the Opera House, the Sydney Cityscape, the Harbour Bridge, Circular Quay towards Opera House, Coogee Park near the beach, Kensington Park, and finally in front of our apartment building.

You gotta do it at least once.

We climbed with a young group from England and a dude from Greece. Our climb leader was Dave, a 22-yr old uni student who was extremely cynical. And like he said, I’m not sure about comparing this climb with an Everest Climb. That’s just ridiculous.

There’s a lot to learn and enjoy in the Aquarium. Surprisingly, it was really crowded the day we went. Quite funny too to meet my supervisor there with his family. Nevertheless, we enjoyed what was inside. It was really difficult taking pictures here obviously. But here are some of our best tries.
Aside from the famous nemo characters, there were these huge catfish in the first few tanks. Also, a boisterous group of seals (might upload my videos of this soon in youtube), scarily huge sharks and dugongs.
