Song tripping: Spoliarium

Since I have this recorder with me most of the time, and often record my thinking while walking or shopping, I took up this weird habit of recording myself singing as well, especially in those idle moments that I’m just sitting it out waiting for something to happen. I know not all people are interested in hearing some random person bawling out some random song. Aj proposed that I just send the url to anyone who asks for it, but well, I’m just too damn lazy. So after much thought (about 10 seconds) I decided to just go for it and post the url anyway. I really don’t care!

I need money for a cheap guitar. I really really want to brush up on my “skills”, and maybe record some stuff with accompaniment! =P I hung out with some Pinoys studying in USyd (Uni of Sydney) last week and they were jamming with some OPM songs and it made me miss those “good times” Anthony was talking about!
Feeling music artist! Hehe. I forgot how fun it is to sing just for the heck of it =)

Parcel Sent and Received

I FedEx’ed Pen a package for her in Sydney. It would double as my christmas gift for her. Korni nga lang ng contents nung package hehe.
Just for note-taking sake, the package I sent weighed 1.5 kilos and it costs 2.5k from Manila to Sydney. Delivery time took 3 days I think. Pen and I were tracking the package thru FedEx’s website tracking facility. We were both worried that the final status of the package was ‘Incorrect Address’. Good thing that Pen assured me it was okay. That’s the way it is and she encountered the same problem when she sent her papers there for her scholarship application.
Hope you’re happy with the package Pen. Sa uulitin! ü ü ü

This is obviously taken in a swimming pool. It’s the family’s favorite pool whenever we are in Orani, Bataan.
I can’t say much about the history of this photo. Si Pen na lang mag-describe.

It is approximately 2 hours before Pen’s flight to Australia. It will be a 10hr flight with a stop over in Melbourne via PAL. Communications with her is not a big issue as they are only ahead of us by 2 hours. Also, Pen activated her roaming in her cellphone kaya piso lang ang text natin sa kanya. If she replies, that will cost her 20 pesos I think. (so malamang i-Chikka na lang nya).
If not via cellphones, various IM applications are readily available not only for text chats but also for voice chats. Y!Messenger, Gtalk and Skype are our top three apps that we can use. It’s a great alternative for long distance phone calls from the golden years.
And of course, there will always be Janep to get the latest news and tsika from both sides of the world (well, actually half of the world lang kasi di naman trans-atlantic yung layo ng Australia sa pinas).
So, please do always come back here para updated kayo lagi sa mga happenings.

Sorry for the picture… the sand castle was still in progress when this photo was taken. We were not able to come back for the completed sand castle and take a picture of it. Anyway, this is the only picture that has “Boracay” on it, not to mention the date the picture was taken. ?

Birthday Girl

Another year has passed. The tradition of handaan/pakain during Pen’s birthday will have to be on hold for this year. We will be celebrating this one by ourselves. *wink*
Secret muna kung saan kasi pangit ang panahon. Baka lalong maudlot. We promise to put up pictures when we get back.
This entry is a day early because we cannot probably be online for the next couple of days.

First Year, New Look

I’m pegging the anniversary day of Janep today – June 20th.
It should have been on the 14th of June 2005 when I paid the first half of the deal but I was not able to put up something until July of 2005. So just to clear everything, I hereby announce that the anniversary date of Janep is today (which of course coincides with something more special between me and Pen).
Okay, so on with the new look. I still haven’t finished bringing everything back so I’ll have to do with some live fixing until I fixed everything. Let me know if you see something broken. And if you see something that is not quite right.

Did some Photoshopping last weekend. I tried a black and white effect and recoloring similar to those hallmark cards.
This was taken while walking along the CS building enroute Math Buidling.
This is at the Grand Carousel at EK. Sumobra ata ang itim ko dito hehe
This is at Villa Escudero while riding the cart pulled by a carabao.
I still can’t get the proper color effect such that the colored portions will stand out infront of the black and white backdrop.
