(Geek speak alert)
Checks, one of the Honours students in our lab, is setting up a server for us. Ever since he set up an account for everyone, I was playing around with the space provided. My brain is cobwebbed with html so I whipped that up pretty quickly. Anyhow, the fun part was learning how to connect remotely to the host, and using this ridiculously barebone internet browser called “lynx” (screen capture shown here courtesy of wikipedia). Browsing the worldwide web with text… how crazy is that? Mark wanted the server stripped as much as possible, and one way to do that was to not have an X server. That meant having purely command line interfaces with this machine and no “GUI” whatsoever. I spent a considerable time goofing around with this browser, forgetting that Firefox will cut my troubles tenfold. I do scare myself most of times.

Which brings me to rave now about another thing. I found the lab machine naming scheme so cool: each machine is called by the name of a classic thinker, like Thales, Parmenides, Democritus, etc. When I first came I could not help but look up the names of those I have not heard of (Archytas, Heraclitus, Zeno, Leucippus). What personification.
“So how’s Parmenides going?”
“He’s not too bad, thanks.”

Since I have this recorder with me most of the time, and often record my thinking while walking or shopping, I took up this weird habit of recording myself singing as well, especially in those idle moments that I’m just sitting it out waiting for something to happen. I know not all people are interested in hearing some random person bawling out some random song. Aj proposed that I just send the url to anyone who asks for it, but well, I’m just too damn lazy. So after much thought (about 10 seconds) I decided to just go for it and post the url anyway. I really don’t care!

I need money for a cheap guitar. I really really want to brush up on my “skills”, and maybe record some stuff with accompaniment! =P I hung out with some Pinoys studying in USyd (Uni of Sydney) last week and they were jamming with some OPM songs and it made me miss those “good times” Anthony was talking about!
Feeling music artist! Hehe. I forgot how fun it is to sing just for the heck of it =)

Apart from the design itself, i really like my Superman tshirt. It fits me comfortably and the fabric is really good. Now that I have my tshirt with me for close to 5 years I think, it now suffers from fading of color and design degradation (the S insignia is a little bit crackled now).
So, just to give my favorite shirt a fitting honor (not that I will dispose of it anytime soon!), I present this post to you.
I am Superman and I have a big chest! I have a little tarsier with me and my mojo’s can kick your ass.

Warning: katulad ng dati, nagkokronikel na naman ako dito ng mga walang sense na mga bagay. Kwento lang tungkol sa buhay-buhay. Simula muna sa pagkain.
Hindi ako laging nakakapagluto, dala ng walang oras at minsan naman ay tinatamad lang talaga. Kaya madalas kong iniisip “Anong kakainin ko mamayang gabi?” May mga ilang pagkakataon naman na kumakain kami ng grupo sa labas. Pero syempre nakakasawa rin ng labas ng labas. Paminsan-minsan ay masarap lang umuwi sa bahay at magrelax, kumain ng simple at matulog =)
