Hmmm… now if I could really monetize this blog.

Thanks to all readers. Kahit na ayaw nyong mag-iwan ng comment, salamat pa rin sa patuloy na pagbisita.

iBlog3 Aftermath

April 15th, 2007

My first time to attend a formal blog conference. The 1st BlogCon at GreenBelt3 was a dinner/party, the BlogParteeh! was a party and the Blog Awards was an awards night. ü

I missed the first 2 iBlog events so I made it a point to go this time. The usual gang was there (do you guys really need link loves?). The ever talkative jester was the first one I saw. Juned, Poell and Ramsey showed next.

Chris opened up the whole conference with his blogging for newbies talk. He was of course with his wife Apples. Too bad they have to leave early though on the first day though. I met Celeste, a blogger from Baguio (who drove all the way to Manila with her husband and lovely daughter just to attend the conference). The quiet but deadly Shari was sitting on the far end of the room. Maybe because she’s had too much fame already.

I’ll leave the details with Jester’s entry and Apple’s 2-day reports – first day & second day. Janette Toral also compiled the blog entries for the events.

I guess the heart and soul of the blogging meetups like this is the socializing on the side. I get to finally introduce myself to Jonas and Marcelle. I saw in person Malou Mangahas, Alecks Pabico, Dean Alfar and Manuel L. Quezon III and other high-profile blogger.

It’s a given that Abe and his troop were also there. They just ooze with PR juices and everyone around them will just fall in awe. :)

On the second day, I wore my WordPress shirt. I proudly paraded around and true enough, people would stop me to ask where I got my shirt. What better day to wore the shirt but in an event like this. Thanks to Ant for sending me one. Let’s work out something so we could do a business of buying and selling WordPress shirts here in the Philippines.

All in all, the event was truly educational. I know the organizers put a lot of effort to stage this event. I personally thank each of them and hopefully we will have more (free) iBlogs to come.

Blog Awards 2007 Aftermath

April 2nd, 2007

Blog Awards
No. I didn’t won those glasses. The one on the left is Ederic’s plaque for the Globelines Special Award under Pinoy Ako category. The one on the right is Markku’s plaque for winning the best plugin award for his iPap plugin. Since Ederic wasn’t there and Markku’s taking pictures everywhere, I volunteered to hold the plaques from Markku and took the oppurtunity to have my photo taken. Thanks jester!

Blog Awards
Though I didn’t win those plaques and the coveted iPod, I won 2 free movie tickets from SM. Well, better than nothing. I must admit that if I won the iPod again, I would claim my 15minutes of fame on the stage when I accept it. Haha. People everywhere there were casting spells and curses on me if and when I won the iPod. Wala naman akong ginagawang masama ah. Masama bang umasa uli na manalo? hehe.

Okay, off to the obligatory link love…

Blog Awards e-Ticket

March 30th, 2007

e-Ticket

Now I wonder what will I wear?

See you there folks.

Philippine Blog Awards e-Ticket

March 27th, 2007

The much awaited awards ceremony for the Philippine Blogosphere is finally here.

On March 31, 2007 at 6-8pm, the first Philippine Blog Awards will take place. Venue is at Podium 4 at RCBC Theater RCBC Bldg in Makati.

Getting an invite (or an e-Ticket for that matter) is fairly easy.

You just have to blog the prestigious ceremony (like this entry) and place a link pointing to where we can get the ticket. Oh, you also have to leave a comment at that entry.

Event organizers will then find out that I can be reached at my gmail account with username ajayjorge. That way, they can email me further instructions.

Now I have to find something to wear as the event is semi-formal. Hmmm… for sure the event will be a paparazzi galore as most of the bloggers are also photography enthusiasts so bring on your best clothes for this event.

iBlog3

March 6th, 2007

Philippine Blogosphere is very much active this 2007. We have the Philippine Blog Awards on March 31 to be held on Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium in RCBC Plaza Building (yes, the same place where I work). We will also have the 3rd iBlog Convention on April 13 & 14 to be held on UP School of Economics Auditorium.

iBlog3

The best thing in this iBlog3 is that it is still free! No expense to worry about and the venue is too good to be true. If it will be held in some other place, I have to think twice before going.

There will be a lot of talks and sessions for the two day event. See the details here and if you want to come with me, register here. I’m the 63rd registrant.
