I don’t really do memes. But got tagged by my good friend Jo on this one. Supposed to pick the 6th photo in the 6th folder of my photos folder. Well, I have a bunch of nested subfolders in my 6th folder, so I just went on counting sixthes ’til I got this one:

A photo taken by my dad while I was visiting Manila in March 2008. On our way to the airport (I was flying out to Singapore) we passed Baclaran church. Here is me with my mom, lighting candles. It’s not something we do together, but it was my first time in Baclaran church. To the uninformed, Baclaran church is one of those places Filipinos frequent to pray fervently, and one of those special “shrines” where I guess, people believe if you pray hard enough, your prayers will be answered. Sorry for the rough words of description, I’m not a big church person so I don’t really know half of what I’m saying.
Anyhow, that’s that. I’m not one to tag, but if you’ve read this, feel free to do the same. Ciao!

Bus Stop
by AJ

My bus stop almost in front of our condo. This is my gateway to go to the nearest mrt and to the city proper.
Umbrella
by Pen

So it rained today, after the searing heat since yesterday. Here’s my wet umbrella to prove it. I’ve had dark colored umbrellas ever since I could remember, though I had the occasional girly-colored one if my mom gives me one. I thought this one was a good find, a black one with flowery print.

Sun over UNSW
by Pen

Was a hot day. Walked around uni to find a shot for this entry, and I had a lot, and I liked the quadrangle photos most. But then I thought it only fitting to use this sun shot, coz it was a REAL hot day today.
I hate how the tree is cramped between to two buildings too, but I guess you gotta be glad enough for it to be still standing.

Orchard Road
by AJ

The always crowded Orchard road was surprisingly empty during this time. The sidewalk was free of people and tourist. Taken in front of Paragon Mall around 10am.
Alley through to Train
by Pen

Graffiti along alley wall going to northern entrance of Parramatta station. Not very artsy, and the wall is only a temporary one, just fencing in a construction site. I looked for the part of the wall with most color. Here it was.

Tubid goes for a layup
by AJ

Ronald Tubid goes for a layup against a Singapore Slinger player.
The most famous basketball team in Philippines, Ginebra San Miguel, went to Singapore for a one-day exhibition game. They didn’t bring their best players (Caguiao, Helterbrand & Menk) due to injuries but the Filipino crowd still showed for support. Arena was half-full as the game was only announced 2 days before the actual game. We were able to get nice seats (about 3 rows behind the Ginebra players). Ginebra lost and was overwhelmed by the aussie players from singapore. But hey, we were able to chant Ginebra! Ginebra! Ginebra!
What store is this?

To help you guess, look for a company logo somewhere in the image.

Abalone
by AJ

New Moon Abalone is all over Singapore these days. Think of fruitcake or keso de bola during our christmas season. This is their ‘must-have’ during Chinese New Year. It doesn’t come cheap! 1 can (same size of our evaporated milk) can cost up to 40SGD, that’s roughly 1,200 pesos a can! I have no idea how it tastes like and where it’s from. Most of the Abalones in cans here are exported from Australia and are packed/presented in a Chinese fashion.

Taken by iPhone while inside the bus. Sky was blue and the bus was right infront of the condo.
Sydney Street Piano

A group put up some pianos in the street for anyone to play. This photo was taken at Parramatta station. There is another piano in Parra town hall. (more of the series in flickr)
