Coogee Beach

Did some processing while I’m bored at home. I realized I need a laptop with bigger resolution so I can zoom in more in my images while being done in CS2. Gotta note that down when I buy my own laptop.

Princess Knight

April 13th, 2008

It was the early 80s, and I was watching a lot of Candy Candy (I had a doll of Candy Candy, which, much to my shock, was given away :( Worst thing) and my brother was into meccha (like Voltes V, Daimos, and Mazinger Z.. there’s another one with planes I can’t remember the title… ). I couldn’t have been more than 5 years old.

Finally, I found info online about Princess Knight (Ribon no Kishi).

I couldn’t remember its title for the longest time. It might have been called differently. The last I remember of it was watching it on TV before I started school. I can remember a hazy story about a princess (Princess Sapphire), forced to disguise herself as a boy (Prince Sapphire) because of an evil relative threatening to take the throne in the absence of a male heir. I was so frightened by the concept of her being found out and get hurt. There is a romantic angle to this story that was disturbing to me then. As the princess posed as a prince, she fell in love with a boy (and was loved back by this same boy when she was her girl self). Very peculiar but intruiging to a young viewer eh? And I remember thinking, “She’s a girl but she looks cute as a boy too!” Ambiguous thoughts indeed.

Managing Money

April 11th, 2008

It’s amazing how me and Pen are able to manage our itsy-bitsy money even though we are far-away from each other. I have Singapore Dollars, she have Australian Dollars and we need to convert it both to Philippine Peso for our expenses at home.

We are in a way laundering money hihihi.

Good thing that Google has this GoogleDocs service that we can track our spreadsheets and documents wherever we are. We have our monthly expenses and savings tracked on-the-fly. In this way too, we can also project expenses and savings until December.

Like yesterday, we concluded that I can still fly to Sydney on her bday on August without missing much on our savings. It was initially a trip to Sydney or a laptop for AJ. I can live without a laptop (though I would want one for my own). A trip back to Sydney during winter season outweighs the laptop.

Now we are looking for cheap flights for my flight.

UWS

April 8th, 2008

Today is my first day taking office in the University of Western Sydney (UWS). The room I’m staying in at the moment is sooooo much like the office I used to have in UP Math in Diliman. Very cozy and academic. Just bring me a desk lamp and food within reach, and I shall never leave this desk.

I think I’m done with work for the day, but it’s only 3 p.m. and I don’t feel like going yet. So I thought I’d drop a tiny post.

Nothing to say really, just “Hello world!”
