Social Site Demographics
AJ Jorge February 28th, 2008
Quite interesting to see the social networking sites we use according to our demographics. Friendster still tops the SouthEast Asia market which includes the Philippines. Multiply doesn’t show in the list though I thought it is gaining momentum due to the ease of picture sharing and music sharing. MySpace still tops the list closely followed by FaceBook.

Facebook is starting to get annoying with all those silly notifications that build up. Vampire bites and fighting challenges… Eeeeeeh? It would be a useful tool to get in touch with people, but arrrrrrgh! Still I get a kick out of it now and then.
I tried using Hi5 and Orkut, but no one is there anyway. Now I see the whole of India and Brazil is PINK.
MySpace pages are too cluttery, but I do like browsing pages of music artists. They put their latest songs there and it’s cool to hear them stream right off a single click.
Couldn’t help but notice the white spaces. No data from that huge chunk of Africa, China, South America and the Middle East. My geography is rusty… anyone help out identify…? Some parts of Europe… which countries are those? Then the eastern half of Guinea; that island off the East African coast… is that Madagascar? And are those islands south of the US, the Carribean?
It’s strange how there’s no data from Japan. Or if they aren’t into online social groups at all, they must be too busy inventing the next new thing that other societies will eat up.
it’s been said that there’s an internet blackhole in china due to their massive censorship.
