Solar Car Race: SINAG
penny November 3rd, 2007

It’s a poor photo… and it hardly makes sense. But this was as much as I could get from the Aussie news on TV where the Philippine flag was flown beside the Aussie flag.
It was the start of the solar car race some weeks ago. It’s funny how the Pinoy news here did not play it up, instead showing circusry of Pinoy politics and showbiz, as always.
Nabalita ba sa Pinas na lumahok ang SINAG, isang team ng mga Pinoy (DLSU students + sponsors), sa World Solar Challenge? Di man tayo nagwagi, anlaking bagay nito. =)
Thoughts aside
The auto insurance companies offer very feasible rates of insurance leads for the potential clients. If you want to get the listings of cars for sale, you may browse the different automobile websites of the different brands. The listings of used cars of the different brands are published on the official websites of the automobile companies.

hi!
i was with the sinag solar car team that went to australia. my name’s martin. i came by your site when i was looking for some news articles on google.
yup, thats our flag outside our workshop in the hidden valley racetrack, where they test all the teams’ solar cars. the man in the video talking is david fewchuck, from aurora (an australian team). he advised us while we were constructing sinag.
anyway, thanks so much for the interest, and your support! we finished 12th out of 20 teams in our class, which is quite an enormous achievement for us. it was our first time ever participating in this challenge, and the feedback from the other solar car teams there was quite positive.
we’re back in the philippines now, and life has more or less gone back to normal for us students and teachers.
anyway, we’re currently putting together a multiply site with all of our pictures and stories. you can find us at sinag88.multiply.com
(sorry for the shameless plug)

Hey Martin, thanks for leaving a message =) Thanks for the link to your multiply site.
Oh of course we (Pinoys) should have interest! My father and I were furiously sending each other SMS while this was ongoing, hehe. Always glad to spread good news around =)
When I try to talk about it with other people outside Australia, it’s important to stress that Darwin – Adelaide is not a mere Makati to Tagaytay ride. That was no easy feat, and congratulations to you and your team!
thanks penny!
the distance we travelled would be the distance from manila to tokyo, actually. and you’re right, it was pretty tough. there was plenty of drama involved while we were there. X_x
Drama? Oh I’m sure! Put a group of people in intense situations for days and there is bound to be chaos at some point. Must have been quite an experience =) and so much to take out from. Looking forward to read more about your stories. Let us know! Had a look at your photos, the car looked awesome!
