One time I was at Suntec Mall and there was this event sponsored by Chevrolet as a free advertisement of sorts for the Transformers the Movie. You all know that Bumbleebee is a yellow Camaro car by Chevrolet rather than the Volkswagen we all knew as a kid. Anyway, there was a showcase of different Chevy cars on display. But of course what got my attention was the Optimus Prime mascot/model that was circling the area.
Every Friday, walang paltos, lunch out kami parating mga noypi.
*si gina yung nakapikit. sinadya daw nya yun para magpa-cute.
As our office is strategically placed in the boondocks, we have to take a bus to the nearest ‘lunch out’ place. Often times we go to Tampines Mall (where I usually go for my grocery) or to Bedok where we can either eat at KFC or Pizza Hut. The choices are rather simple: KFC, Pizza Hut, Pasta Mania or McDo. Nothing too fancy. Just taking time out from the ofc and seeing other sights. Continue Reading »
Here in Singapore, you get to buy spices by the bulk. Walang tingi-tingi dito. And so when I needed to buy garlics, I ended up buying six garlic heads when I only needed about 4 cloves. Now I have a supply that will last a lifetime for me here.
Pics from Christchurch, NZ trip here. No people pictures. Just the sights. And some random shots of moi.
The conference was Evolution 2007. It was too big a group to get to know everyone, so I took it slow speaking with fellow postgraduates and a handful of professional academics. Biologists are an interesting brood, I have to say. Even more so the theoretical lot. It was particularly curious to meet Mark’s colleagues from his honours, postgrad and postdoc years. What I found quite funny was his Stanford peers saying how Mark’s academic lineage extends to as far back as Karl Friedrich Gauss… so that they were calling me their academic ‘niece’, ‘cousin’ since I was, they said Mark’s ‘daughter’.
[storytelling put to a stop... i've typed up really long narratives only to get them lost into internet oblivion... guess I wasn't destined to tell too much. maybe just a bit as we go...]
Last year, I pegged janep’s anniversary to be on June 20th which coincides with our anniversary and Cia’s bday. It has been a very fruitful year both for me and Pen.
As you all know, Pen is currently in Sydney while I am here in Singapore. Yeah, it’s the dreaded long distance relationship, but we don’t really give a shit. We are having fun doing our own thing by ourselves. We could be happier though if we are together but we are on the last stretch of our single blessedness, might as well savor the moment. Carpe Diem!
Now, as for the new look, I do hope you notice the banner image (or at least it shows on your browser). It would not have been possible without the generosity of Mr. Jonas Diego of The Blurb!. I (formally) met Jonas in iBlog3 when I took all my courage to approach him. He’s a comics artist (and sometimes a comic too!) and I’m a comics fan. The meeting was a match made in heaven – well at least for me. I’m a big fan of webcomics apart from the usual singe comics sold at your comics shops. Jonas already has 6 webcomics published in the web. Grab/read/subscribe your copy over at his archive. Jonas, I thank you once again.
I’m not yet done with the details of the new look. There’s nothing you can do but bear with the inconvenience. Honestly, I haven’t fully tested the template so there might be some broken links here and there. I’m just a comment/email away, so please do tell me any thing you may have notice not working properly.
Thanks for continuously reading the blog. We hope you join us with our journey.
This is a cool app that calculates your travel opportunities within the Philippines. Basically you will just answer questions on how often you have been to a place and it shades that region.
My Lakbayan grade is D!
How much of the Philippines have you visited? Find out at Lakbayan!
