Penny. In Sydney. For half a year. Unbelievable. I still have that newcomer feeling since this is after all the first time I ever encountered a beginning of session in an academic year, considering that I came past mid-session last year. Some fun facts that sort of elevates my situation from frikkin’ lost newbie to a seasoned second sessioner:
Some random ones that have nothing to do with Uni, evidence that I almost have half a leg dipped into Aussie water:
Bright side, it is past the mark of the lead time I was given to NOT do any strenuous activities. All the more reason I am so happy my fitness classes start next week. This I hope I can manage to do well. I still don’t feel in tip-top shape.
Down side… I am expected to be more learned (read as two syllables: ler-ned) on my chosen research direction. Being the uberly low-esteemed person that I am, I still need to acquire that attitude of firmness and conviction on what I am capable of.

happy 1/2 year birthday there in Oz.
I guess you’re adjusting well. My friends who moved there 7 years ago (darn, tagal na!) are raving about the elevator-esque public toilets of Melbourne. They keep whining about the $12 movie tickets though.
I think, Sydney and getting a Phd suit you well. I’ve never seen or heard (or read) a livelier Pen who’s so full of kwento and adventures. Alahvet!
Salamat mga amigo, amiga sa pagbasa nyo ng mga sinusulat ko dito sa site namin ni Aj! Nasabi sa kin minsan to not bother telling other people about your experiences abroad, kasi di rin naman makaka-relate ang iba. Para sa kin eh sapat na yung na-express ko yung sarili ko to the universe. Bonus na lang kunsakali na makadulot ng entertainment man sa iba hehe.
@Cel: haberday ngapala, di ka namin nabati agad =)
