Earth Hour

March 31st, 2007

Earth Hour - Saturday 31 March 2007, 7:30pm-8:30pm

Tonight I will turn off electricity for a full hour from 7.30-8.30 p.m. (5.30-6.30 MNL) to support Earth Hour. It would be interesting to see this campaign spread globally.

Try this for a meal. Place in layers: Crumpets, chicken slice, pineapple slices, cheese slices. Microwave for 1 minute [or until cheese melts]. Serve with cool fizzy drink.

Yum!

Music and People.

Man and music, anong connection? [di ko yan sasagutin.] Tignan nga natin ang demographics ng mga music-lover na nakakadaupang palad ko sa loob lang ng lab:

Person 1: Pink iPod nano owner. Top Genre: RnB.

The Flip Flop Pledge.

March 30th, 2007

Found this sometime ago online. Summer is over here in Ozland, but it is still decent weather to wear sandals. Actually, I love wearing barefoot-ie type of shoes, however cold it is. But most ladies forget the importance of ‘courtesy to others” when they do bare their feet. Alas, I too am guilty of breaking these rules every so often, just coz I don’t care long as I’m comfortable!

[The pledge is meant for warm weather and is quite appropriate right now for summertime in da Philippines]

FrancisM Rock the Casbah Song

March 30th, 2007

FrancisM shared the first track of his forthcoming album in his Multiply account but deleted it (or made it private) after a couple of days. But before taking down the song, I was able to get a copy.

The song is a remake of a Clash original and FrancisM’s version is a rocker! It’s great to hear a new song from FrancisM after a long while. He hasn’t lost his touch and I’m very much looking forward to his F-Word album.

Philippine Blog Awards e-Ticket

March 27th, 2007

The much awaited awards ceremony for the Philippine Blogosphere is finally here.

On March 31, 2007 at 6-8pm, the first Philippine Blog Awards will take place. Venue is at Podium 4 at RCBC Theater RCBC Bldg in Makati.

Getting an invite (or an e-Ticket for that matter) is fairly easy.

You just have to blog the prestigious ceremony (like this entry) and place a link pointing to where we can get the ticket. Oh, you also have to leave a comment at that entry.

Event organizers will then find out that I can be reached at my gmail account with username ajayjorge. That way, they can email me further instructions.

Now I have to find something to wear as the event is semi-formal. Hmmm… for sure the event will be a paparazzi galore as most of the bloggers are also photography enthusiasts so bring on your best clothes for this event.

Proud to be a geek

March 27th, 2007

It’s like coming out in the open and finally accepting that I’m a certified geek.

I think it’s culturally accepted now being one. With the advent of technology and internet media, being a geek is a lot of plus. This article solidifies my stand on being a geek.

Google Homepage

March 21st, 2007

Google has yet added another innovation in their Personalized Homepage site.

Google Homepage

Now you can choose themes for your look and feel. I haven’t spent time on this yet but this looks very promising.

In my Google homepage, I have my Gmail and Gcalendar shown. I have my RSS subscriptions there – janep is there together with Digg and Slashdot. I have a hangman widget somewhere there and I added a weather monitoring gadget.

Play around with your homepage.

Writer’s Bloc

March 20th, 2007

I’m having an uneventful night. Supposed to be working I can’t seem to get any juices flowing [I'm supposed to be drafting a couple of papers], that I just decided “to hell with it” for now, and just relax for a bit. So I thought some loosened screws can be tightened up by blabbing a bit of nonsense.

Ok so what to blabber about then? Hmmm…

Doing, yet again, one of my usual hodge-podge storytelling, that which comprises the Pur of the SilPur life.
