anu ba yan…hndi man lng nasali ang UP or universities hr in philippines na mkuha sa top 100 world universities…
Para sa akin hindi lang UP.UST.ATENEO at La Salle ang magandang university sa Pilipinas there are other univ.who can produce competent graduates in different field of studies such as aeronautics FEATI University can produce that Geodetic Eng’g and maritime…go SEAHAWKS!!!!
anu b yan d man lng tyo nka psok sa top 100… how sad……..
….wala yan sa university namin .. im proud to be CMU’ans… GO.. CENTRAL MINDANAO UNIVERSITY…!!!
really? 299? well, i still believe that it depends on the student.. COZ FUTURE IS MADE BY US AND NOT OUR SCHOOL.
Loosen up. It’s just a ranking, no implications are claimed.
GO UP!!!!!!
well all i can about who is the most prominent university when it comes to quality of education that has been offered to their students of course the Polytechnic University of the Philippines even though this school is a state University only Im very much proud that I am a pupians students because PUP is the only university in the whole world where you can meet a true people…PUP is a miniature version of the Philippines so go pup in producing a globally well competitive citizen
well dennie, maybe next time you can check your grammar… that way, PUP will also be proud of you.
Tumataray yata tayo masyado dito. Pasensya na po sa mga nagbabasa. Nagpapakatotoo lang.
excuse me marvin..
it’s unethical to say that the students from prestigious universities like ateneo and la salle are unworthy for those slots.
You shouldn’t underestimate our abilities by our social status. Not all of us are laid-back. Furthermore, we do not use our resources to manipulate people.
Hi Cathleen! can i get your number?
Goodness grief Dennie, let us be cautious of our grammar whenever we’re shouting-out here…I’m also a PUPian and a very proud one of course, let’s take care of our school’s name in whatever we do, or in this case, in how we speak.
Cathleen… I do agree with you regarding your issue with Marvin.. It’s uncouth to generalize students from your social status in that way…
Gee whiz and holy smokes Batman… Hehe, sorry I couldn’t resist… I will get killed now. Totally uncalled for
“Cathleen… I do agree with you regarding your issue with Marvin.. It’s uncouth to generalize students from your social status in that way…”
As long as you don’t get the wrong idea, i’m good with that. =)
Hindi kailangang mapasali sa top universities in the world ang isang university,at dun ka na lamang aaksyon but it is in student{s}to pursue with sincerity on his/her part. All universities has it all the best for his student,so walang pangit at maganda lahat ay pareho lng. From the north……always Saint Louis University {SLU }Baguio City cares…..
I think there are lot of colleges in the Philippines that can be competent more as the Universities are, like Mindanao Polytechnic State College,Sorry po kasi dito po ako nag aaral heheh,Im just telling the truth. We are the top colleges of engineering and architecture in the country according to censured exam.
-adamson university is d best!!!
-im proud 2 be adamsonian. . .
UP, Ateneo, DLSU and UST, Please Stop!..Divine Word College of Bangued (Abra) can compete with you.
Our school is the only accredited institution by PAASCU in our province (Abra), Divine Word College of Bangued. I could say that, DWCB could be in parallel with UP, Ateneo, La Salle and UST.
Fight Divine…
mas magaling talaga ang mga taga-UP!
the best talaga!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
go U.P.!
Marvin is probably the most stupid among the bloggers here. I have been a professor of DLSU and Ateneo since 1999 and also taught at UP(part-time) for two years and UST for five semesters. The truth is there is not much difference in terms of student quality because the students’ IQ in several classes may vary from time to time dependent mainly on whether or not a specific class-in-question is a creme dela creme. So please do not divide the students from UST, UP, DLSU & ADMU. They almost the same except that Ateneans are probably the smartest and that UP girls usually have the highest IQ, at least, on the average.
Most of the bloggers here, I understand, are students. Please refrain from bashing other schools public or private. Most of us come from different backgrounds but what’s more important is that we try to erase the stigma of being tagged as “idiot” and “lazy” Filipinos. I studied in both AdMU and DLSU and went to Georgetown and Harvard for my higher degrees. It was mainly my effort that landed me into different universities here in the Philippines. School background mattered very little. After all, the richest Filipinos did not come from top-tiered Philippine universities. So please, let us unite as hard-working and smart brothers and sisters and rescue the Philippines from a very bad image abroad.
We can hardly determine objectively the best university unless we have criterions. It will also depend on the course being offered by that university. The rest are the works of perceptual assessment. Biases then are inevitable.
Just remember one thing: humility. Some graduates of prestigious universities seem to forget that only the Lord God is omniscient. Be reminded that no university in this world has a monopoly of knowledge.
I believe that the yardstick of a best university should be its ability to make an ordinary student an extraordinary one after finishing its program.
With rigid exams, these so called best universities are getting only the brightest or the extraordinary ones. These people are more or less predestined to succeed. So where’s the credit now?
i doubt if this dennie comes from PUP. have u taken the entrance exam, why the hell did u pass. you’re a shame to my sintang paaralan!! piece of advice: before saying anything, whatever it may be, isipin mong mabuti baka makasira ka sa reputasyon hindi lang ng ibang tao higit pa sa isang istitusyon, ok!?–a proud PUPian.
ProQuest, a Michigan-based company specializing in microfilm and electronic publishing with clients not only in the US, but also in Europe, Ausralia, Germany, Canada and other parts of the world, recognizes only 5 universities from the Philippines–UP, Ateneo, La Salle, UST, PUP. Therefore, the never-ending argument as to what are the top universities is now put to rest. Re: 2 state-owned-UP & PUP and 3 privately-held ADMU, DLSU, & UST
my top universities based on general assessment are, in order, UP, ADMU, DLSU, UST, PUP. However, from the perspective of students achievement and intelligence, my ranking would be as follows: (1)UP, (2)ADMU, (3)PUP, (4)DLSU (5)UST.
It would make for good argument if people will take notice of the criteria that was quoted in this post.
Good thing I passed all the entrance tests of the TOP4!! last year:-)
Though, I believe it really depends on students, faculty, study habits, facilities, passing rates, etc.
by the way im a thomasian, planning to transfer at Ateneo, 2nd yr, and Law proper at UP..
Note that the ranking puts a lot of weight on research. Indicating what?
My two cents worth, it is important that a university not only “produces” good graduates, but that it also contributes to knowledge. New knowledge. Though it’s difficult to gauge which sort of “knowledge” qualifies as being useful. But it is reassuring to know that there are people slaving their way through research in the hope of discovery.
let’s cut the chase.
It is true that you don’t have to become a students from the top universities to gain knowledge. But after graduation, you’ll realize that the school where you came from really matters.
Why? Because the moment they scan your curriculum vitae and see that you didn’t graduate from the top universities, you’ll be instantly rejected. Sad to say but you may not even stand a chance to have an interview.
Perhaps in some cases, the company might still hire you… But only to occupy the non-executive position. In other words… you won’t go that far.
Yes. This society is really harsh. But that’s reality.
I didn’t intend to mock / offend anyone with what I said. How you’ll take it is all up to you. Anyway, everyone’s entitled to their own opinions.
You might say that there are still some excellent students who are better than those who came from the top universities..
Well.. perhaps that true.
but those chances only come once in a blue moon.
Basta TAMARAWS: MAGALING
GO FEU! GO FIGHT TAMARAWS!!!
What university can produce a CPA; Engr; Teacher; Nutrionist; Chemist for Php 12.00 per unit?
POLYTECHNIC UNIVERISTY OF THE PHILIPPINES!!!
Putting this school wars to rest.
By the sample above, we can clearly distinguish the commendable schools and the schools whose students barks loudest.
