Pinoy Blogging @ jAneP
penny January 30th, 2007
It’s interesting how blogging has evolved into this new “media” that is getting a lot of hoopla. Of course this mutation from a sea of disconnects into a “blogosphere” is only natural once you have the bloggers getting a grip on what they have in their hands. Some are clever to recognize that “content is king”, and are getting good hits in their blogs. And the rise of pinoy bloggers as a breed of new heroes can be a bit overwhelming… but then again, maybe not too much. It’s often inevitable that Pinoys would steal the scene in a popular medium as blogs. Don’t you agree?
Still there are still the rest of us who blog for our own pleasure. An avenue for emotional diarrhea if I am permitted to say so. A lot of incoherent junk that gets put up in the strangest of times. Eh? Yes I know it’s junk. But it’s our junk, and I love it! I’m sure Ajay agrees. It’s much his junk as it is mine anyways =P
It hasn’t been a decade when I jumped into my concept of blogging at blogspot, and nothing much has changed in the way I perceive it now that Ajay and I share the same page. So instead of speaking now about my concept, I should really say our concept. We started weblogging here in jAneP (aha! thanks to my friends here who started using that lettercasing, I think it’s really cool) not really thinking of a theme, but a merging of our “web personas” silverhoundus and purplepenelope (hence the SilPur life, to state the obvious, a parody to “a simple life”). Hmmm, I think drizzling this post later with our peyups avatars* would be nice, eh?
A new dimension to jAneP emerged now I’m away from the Philippines. It may have not been apparent to others, but this site has meant much more now more than before, if it is possible. It really is fascinating how far your presence can be felt, and how simple it can be. I would take this for granted sometimes, but blogging keeps me home. Sounds silly, but I do see and feel that blue ribbon that Globe Telecom uses in its visual ads somehow. (O! Libreng advertising yan ah!)
As for our concept of blogging? I don’t see a reason why it should change this year, called by Joey Alarilla as the Year of the Pinoy Blogger. Ajay and I will still be cruising on as we always have. Blog on!

Topher Grace (b. 1978) will be starring alongside Tobey Maguire in the next Spiderman film installment. It’s amazing how these two look alike in some angles. Though now he looks a tiny bit like Brendan Fraser… don’t you think? The geeky frame he used to sport is shedding off too.
He appeared in the film In Good Company with Scarlett Johanssen and Dennis Quaid. Not a big hit, but a decent enough movie. He looked a bit more serious here, but his boyish appeal doesn’t shake off at all. I guess that was the point of his casting. He also had a tiny role as fiance to Julia Stiles’ character in Mona Lisa Smile.
