  1. From a point P on the ground 20 meters from the base of a tree, the angle of elevation of the top of the tree is 75 degrees. Find the height of the tree.
  2. A triangular corner lot with perimeter 30 meters has two of its sides fronting two intersecting streets. If the 2 sides along the streets are 6 and 10 meters, find the angle which the streets make with each other.
  3. An airplane left the airport in the direction N30W. After flying 100sqrt(2) miles it must return to the airport. Because of navigation error, it flew the 100sqrt(2) miles back in the direction S75E. How far off-course is the plane from the airport?

    1. y= 20 / cos 75 ?
    2. the lot is not a right triangle since it doesnt satisfy the pythagorean theorem. hmmm… mag-iisip p ako ng formula
    3. sqrt (2) = square root ba yan?

    Oo naman. Kapag nagturo ka sa UP makikita mo lahat ng previous exams ng tinuturo mo. Etong exam na to particularly kasi naitago ko din bluebooks ko kay Cejalvo, at nagamit ko pang answer key nung nagtuturo na ako.

    Pero naitapon ko na din mga old materials ko sa UP. Tambak lang eh.

    eto ang sagot ng isang walang alam sa math:

    1. height of the tree is less than a meter na lang, natumba ng bagyong milenyo kaya nakahiga na ito sa lupa…

    2. bago pa man masukat ay nagkaroon ng road widening kaya mali na ang mga numero na nakatala rito….ang triangular corner lot ay naging irregular ang shape….nagreklamo na ang mayari sa dpwh dahi l sa kakulangan ng permiso ng contractor….ang may-ari ng lupa ay di rin nabayaran kaya pinagaaralan niyang sampahan ng kaso ang sino mang responsable rito…..

    3. eto ang eroplanong sumalpok sa Tower 2 ng World Trade Center, sa ngayon hindi na importanteng malaman kung “how far off-course was it from the airport”….alam naman nating lahat na hindi instrument error ang nangyari at ang totoong dahilan ay terrorist attack…..

    naku may napanuod naman akong ilang docu….kaso nakakatulugan ko eh, hehehe….hindi ko masyado natatandaan yung isyu ng konspirasia….ang mga sigurado laang ako ay sa 7/11 at Lucky Number Slevin
