Bumblebee on the Transformers Movie

June 28th, 2006

Apparently Volkwagen didn’t give the rights to use their car for the upcoming movie. So instead, the movie guys will use a yellow Chevy Camaro to stand in as Bumblebee.

bumblebee?

AutoblogSpanish stumbled upon a pic of Bumblebee on the set of the upcoming Transformers movie being directed by Michael Bay. We?ve seen pics before of the Chevy Camaro Concept wearing a Bumblebee paint job, but this is the first glimpse of the car in partial transformation.

*note: don’t even bother clicking on the link unless you understand Spanish.

100 Greatest Rock Songs of the 90s

June 27th, 2006

I got a compilation of 100 Greatest Rock Songs of the 90s from bittorrent. The list was great and brings a lot of memories from high school and college days. I still haven’t listened to the whole compilation in one sitting and just played those that I am more familiar with.

The Rock/Grunge/Alternative era during those years doesn’t compare with what we have now. They pioneered this kind of music; much like the E-Heads here in the Philippines. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, U2, Red Hot, Metallica are staple in any list of the 90s. Simply astounding.

See the full list inside.

Look Up In The Sky

June 22nd, 2006

I’m in Superman mode nowadays. I cannot stress enough that I am excited with this film. As much as I would like to watch it on the opening day, me and Pen will wait until the weekend to watch it. For now, I will have to appease myself with the newly released Superman documentary – Look, up in the Sky – The Amazing Story of Superman

NBA Champion 2006

June 21st, 2006

NBA Champions 2006
Miami bounced from a 0-2 deficit after a battering taken from the Mavs in Games 1 and 2. There was no stopping Miami in the next 4 games and D-Wade led the team which eventually got him the MVP Finals Award.

As much as I would like Dallas to win, Wade is simply unstoppable once let loose and his rhythm in check. Wade was the 5th overall pick last 2003 NBA draft, the time when King James was picked first then Carmelo Anthony in second. Proving himself against the two big shots, he was the first to get a ring via this championship.

On a side note, finally Gary Payton gets his first ring after 16 fruitless seasons while Shaquille gets his 4th ring.

First Day High ng Kamikazee

June 21st, 2006

The theme for the first day of school was originally popularized by Parokya ni Edgar in the song First Day Funk. This incidentally was also a catchy song for an underarm deodorant with an edited lyrics to fit the product.

One year later, Kamikazee released a single with the same theme for the same product. The song is as good as the Parokya’s version though it’s a little bit more ‘noisy’ (Kamikazee’s trademark of course).

Some Superman Returns Trivia

June 20th, 2006

Superman Returns

Seven days to go before Superman Returns to the big screen (pun intended).

With all the hype all over the internet regarding the film, this should be good. I myself can’t wait to watch the film. This is personally my most awaited film of all time.

Now let’s have some trivia on the film’s pre-casting.

First Year, New Look

June 20th, 2006

I’m pegging the anniversary day of Janep today – June 20th.

It should have been on the 14th of June 2005 when I paid the first half of the deal but I was not able to put up something until July of 2005. So just to clear everything, I hereby announce that the anniversary date of Janep is today (which of course coincides with something more special between me and Pen).

Okay, so on with the new look. I still haven’t finished bringing everything back so I’ll have to do with some live fixing until I fixed everything. Let me know if you see something broken. And if you see something that is not quite right. :)

And before we forget, Pen and I would like to greet a dear friend (and a new mommy) a happy birthday today – Cia.

Cia happy happy birthday. :D

Spider-Man is Peter Parker

June 15th, 2006

A little comic geek post here.

I just finished reading Civil War #2 (a Marvel mini series) and in that issue, Spider-Man unmasked himself in front of the people during a press conference.

Marvel bigwigs refer to this as “arguably the most shocking event in comic book history”. True enough, it shocked many comic readers throughout the world. Message boards are swamped with this revelation and is currently being discussed anywhere. Even Yahoo! News covered the story.

I’m a little bit torn myself. After all those years of Spidey protecting his true identity, he gave in to the pressure and revealed himself. Interestingly, Aunt May (the old lady in Peter Parker’s life) and his wife Mary Jane helped him decide on this move even if it means they are now more prone to danger against the bad guys.

So there. I just hope that this is not another dream sequence that will just reset everything back to normal.
