Ang pumalit sa trono ni DSC S30

Since last year, you, our ever faithful Sony DSC S30 digital camera, have been acting strange. You are not focusing properly and are not charging properly. We’ve missed too many great photo oppurtunity dahil lang nag-iinarte ka. I tried so hard to fix you by myself. You know so well that money is hard to come by these days that I can’t afford to buy a new battery for you. I tried to bring you to Sony Service Centers but everytime I decided to bring you, you suddenly work properly. I figure you needed a new battery but I do not have the assurance that you will be magically fixed if your whim is granted. That’s 3.7k down the drain. You’ve been with us since 2000. We’ve taken so many memories with you. I’ve filled up 2 CDs with your shots. When I bought you, I was the only one who has a digital camera. Astig tayo nun! Pakiramdam ko, lahat ng kakilala ko na bumili ng digital camera ay dahil nainggit sila sa atin. We were the center of attraction for every event we went to. But now, it’s time to retire you. Okay, not maybe bury you to your grave but give you some rest. Like all of us who are aging, we need to step back and let the new kids shine.
So, I bring you your predecessor. DSC S30, I would like you to meet A520 - he will take care of us where you left off. He’s much sexier than you but I don’t know (yet) if he can perform well like you. One thing I’ll surely miss is the swivel screen that you have. A520 doen’t have a swivel screen so Pen and I will have a hard time taking pictures of us when we are left alone. You know, I will really miss you. I’ll check on you once in a while to see if you can still perform properly. Who knows, I maybe able to bring you to a service center one day and altogether fix you. Goodbye for now our faithful DSC S30. Thank you again for all the memories you captured for us.

Pen and I recently agreed to buy a Canon A520. Not at all flashy and that hi-tech considering all other digital cameras out there. But we think, it will equally do the job. And of course, it’s not the tool that you use, it’s how you use it.

di ko pa rin gano nakakalikot. hehe.
buti na lang may extra rechargeable battery si pen at extra mmc card. naka-tipid pa ng konti.
sa bidshot ko nga pala nabili - mas mura kaysa sa mall.
ayos!….ok yan chief…the 4MP A520 is definitely better than the 1.3MP S30…at 4MP you can have 8R quality prints….pwede ka mag-frame na ng photos na sharp at hindi pixelized ang image….
definitely the A520 will outperfom the S30, mamimiss mo lang ang swivel lcd pero you can manage without that….bili ka tripod na maliit, tapos kung kukuha ka, compose ka sa LCD, activate the timer, press the shutter, tapos pwesto!…
you also have a better zoom range…4x (35-140 mm equiv) para sa canon at 3x lang sa (39-117mm equiv) sony…masarap na ipang-portrait yun…tapos may macro mode ka sa canon na can focus up to 5 cm…sarap gamitin sa toys mo….
the Sony DSC S30 was a revolutionary camera during its time, the images are crisp, the ccd was great, the battery was ok and the performance in outdoor shooting was superb (at least these according to testimonials)…nevertheless, recent developments in consumer digital cameras has left the S30 eating dust…
suggestion ko…bili ka sanyo rechargeable na 2500 mAh AA batteries sa hidalgo….maginvest ka na rin siguro ng 2 extra rechargeable AA para may pamalit ka….may mmc card ka na naman eh…battery na muna

di pa ko gano marunong gumamit. hirap nga ako sa macro mode eh. tutukan na nga ang mga ulo ng laruan ko, di ko pa rin maayos. blurry pa rin.
may MF sya (manual focus) pwede mo indicate na 5cm na lang ang layo ng subject kaso di ko mapagana ng maayos. upload ako ng pics pag may maganda na akong kuha.
sony DSC s30: nawala si lenscap, nilagyan ng multicolorbead rosary, binilan ng mini-tripod, isinupot sa heartstring pouch… all-in-all, gamit na gamit ng pamilya jorge at reyes. sinabayan ng pinsang si canon A70, nawala si A70, lumabo ang pokus ni DSC s30, namamatay-matay ang baterya…
