AJ: As in Boulevard?
Pen: And it came crumbling down.
Of course, Pen was referring to Princess Aurora from the Disney animation sleeping beauty. :p

University week. I haven’t been attentive to the goings-on since I’ve been spending a lot of time in the heavenly sanctuary of silence and solitude (AKA DLSU Library) since Monday, so kanina lang ako nakapagobserve sa activities sa campus.
“teach for a day” daw. A pretty petite girl with glorious hair waves came to see me 2 days ago. When I asked the stude what the activity was for, she said “Uhm, it’s so that miss we can give a free day for the teacher. And you can take a rest” Hmm… I asked if she was a Math Major. She said no. Iniwasan kong mangusap ang mata ko dahil naisip ko nun “Huuuwaaaat??” I asked her what Math course she took already. She said “Uhm, miss I already finished COMATH1″ Sabi ko ang tinuturo ko COMATH2. Aba, sabi nya “Uhm, miss I am confident naman to teach the parabola and ellipses. My teacher was so-and-so and we were very thorough”. Bibigay na sana ako, kasi napaisip isip ako na tapos na ang mga kalokohan ko sa klase noong nagtuturo ako sa UP, kaya naawa ako bigla sa mga estudyante ko. Sabi ko sa kanya, i-review na lang nya sa quadratic equations mas matutuwa pa ako. Aba, tumanggi!
Ikalawa, ang ingay sa campus tuwing hapon. Laging may natugtog na banda. Pero mukhang soundproof ang heavenly sanctuary of silence and solitude, wala akong naririning ngayon eh.
They’re so civilized. Hehe. Di sila rowdy, but the atmosphere isn’t depressing. It’s a different kind of festive mood.

… says the CNN article.
Of course I have yet to see cars, but the trailer looks promising. I don’t know kung kikita yan katulad ng “Finding Nemo”. I wonder if it would gross close to that of Toy Story 1?

Nood tayo ng “Cars”!
Me being the overly eager and hopeful consumer that I am of Disney and Pixar films, this is of course delightful news! What is scary though is Disney’s tendency to “disneyfy” (sp??) their screenplay that compromises issues that would have catered to a more appreciative audience (as me!). I have no problem with that, seeing that the kids are supposed to learn to like cutesy-cutesy stories. Disney’s magic has also fallen short of that of Pixar’s in the realm of CG. I just hope Pixar’s flair for creativity and wit would prevail. (Andrew Stanton rules!)
Sige mag-away lang kayo all you corporate mongrels, I could only care less long as you let leave the geniuses alone whilst you count your stocks in Wall Street. The sorcerer’s apprentices have us outnumbered!

Laki ng smile ko ngayon.

I just bought the Wolverine toy I was talking about last night. I’m pretty much satisfied (and relieved) that I was able to get one. What’s more, I also bought the Bishop figure and the X-23 figure! So currently, I am halfway of completing the series. I’m still contemplating on buying the remaining 3 figures as I do not really know them – Maestro, Sasquatch & Iron Fist.
When I got to Kidz Station last night, I saw a lone Wolverine on display. Insinctively, I grabbed it the moment I was near it. Never letting go as I peruse the other figures on display, a salesperson approached me and whispered, “Sir, kumpleto pa yang set. Meron pa sa loob”. I asked if there are variant figures and he replied no. SM Toykingdom sells the variant figures but it is included in a set of three – together with 2 normal figures. Oh well. Then I asked if there is still a Bishop figure and he said yes (kumpleto nga kasi eh, kulit ni AJ). I told him to get one.
When he was getting Bishop in the backroom, I saw the X-23 figure. X-23 includes Apocalypse’s head! It was too good to let it pass. So I was in a dilemma, I have Wolverine on my left hand, Bishop is on the way, X-23 is there begging at me to buy her. Man! I did not anticipate on buying 3 figures!
The salesperson arrive. Gave me the Bishop and cajoled me on buying the set. Mabilis maubos.. I don’t know if he’s telling the truth or just giving me the salespitch. Come on dude, you’re Galactus Series is on sale – buy 1 take 1 for crying out loud! Yun ba ang mabilis maubos?! Of course I did not said that. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt because this is an Apocalypse Series and Wolverine and Bishop is in here! So I told him, I’ll pass this time and maybe I’ll buy the remaining three if I still have some extra money. And at the same time, I realized that since the Galactus Series is already on sale, I maybe able to buy a pair from that series. I’m thinking on buying a Professor X/Nightcrawler/Bullseye from that set.

I was feeling a bit down yesterday morning and the night before. Pen and I were exchanging text messages and she was trying to appease me. It’s a good thing to have a girlfriend that not only supports your bisyo, but is also into it. I know she’s happy that I was able to buy the toys. It made me calm down and smile on the way home. I kept texting her how happy I am on my newly acquired toys. Kaya ngayon, laki ng smile ko.
Oh btw, here are the remaining figs that I’m still thinking of buying:
Maestro, Sasquatch & IronFist

You must have read somewhere the article written by an american picking on the Filipinos’ weird foods – adidas (paa ng manok), duck fetus (sisiw sa balot), bone marrow (bulalo), blood soup (dinuguan), BBQ chicken intestine (isaw), among others.
But guess what, they are now picking on Jollibee. What’s wrong with Crispylicious Chickenjoy, Fiesta Spaghetti and Jollibee Palabok? It’s not an adventure to eat at Jollibee. It’s nothing like Monkey Brain Soup or the like. I hate to admit this but it’s a national pride – even if it’s just fast food. Swak sa lasang Filipino.
Oh well. You americans might as well die eating SupersizeMe McDonalds foods.
Here’s the link btw.

Well, I’ll be damned.
Charlie and Kate from the hit popular series LOST recently got engaged in real life.
The British-born actor – who plays rock star Charlie in the hit show – is said to have proposed to stunning Evangeline in Hawaii last week.
The happy pair are now planning to jet to the UK to share their happy news with Dominic’s family.
A source is quoted in Britain’s Sunday Mirror newspaper as saying: “They want to spend the rest of their lives together.
I never saw that coming. I tought ‘freckles’ and ‘saywer’ would eventually hit it off.

I’m eagerly waiting for the release of the Marvel Legends Series 12. I’ve been lurking local toy collectors forums and hoping to hear a whisper when will these toys be out in the malls. This early, Wolverine and Bishop are selling fast (or rather pre-selling) on online markets – most notably on bidshot and ebay. I do not wish to complete the entire set but if money and luck permits, then why not? But I would like to have this another Wolverine figure.
Currently, I have picked up all the Wolverine assortments from the Marvel Legends line. I have the yellow striped Wolverine (famous from the cartoon show Uncanny X-Men), the brown costume Wolverine (sketched by Jim Lee), the Weapon X Wolverine (the one where Wolverine is held prisoner in the Weapon X facility) and the latest Rider Series Wolverine (from Days of Future Past storyline).
The other figures in this series is not that popular for most of us. What is especially remarkable in this set is that there is an Apocalypse part for every figure. It goes without saying that you have to complete the set to build Apocalypse. They already did this in the previous lines ML9 has Galactus while ML10 has a Sentinel figure. This is awesome if I can complete the set. But then again, I don’t have that much money to spare anyway. And if the gossip is right, the figures will be selling at a higher price than what it used to be. Sigh.
Anywho, it’s still a ‘great’ investment for me. Prices of this figures will skyrocket after a month. Some hoarders and hobbyists are selling some of them for twice the price at least!. Yun nga lang, di mo dapat buksan at paglaruan. Oh well, I just enjoy looking at them. I have a boxful of unopened toys at home. Wonder where will I put them when the time is right?

There are probably a lot of blogsites that carry the win of Pacquiao over Morales.
I’ll just congratulate the pride of the Philippines. Manny Pacquiao isa kang bagong bayani.
