Hey it’s me Pen keeping this post bumped up. Happy New Year to All!!
2006 na. Napag-uusapan nga namin ni Ajay na ‘Di ba eto na ang mga taon na tugma sa itinatanong sa atin sa first job interviews natin na … “How do you see yourself 5-10 years from now?” Haha, I don’t feel I’ve changed much in terms of personality. I still have the same simple pleasures. One thing I don’t mind changing is that Ajay and I are still with each other, and no other changes around us will ever change that.
I am at a loss on what else to say, so I’ll just leave with a story from my last book read for 2005. (Haha, I still have the same favorite author I realise) Pardonez-moi to those who refute the existence of God. To those who do, let’s all remember how we are his instruments on earth.
(Excerpt from Paolo Coelho‘s The Valkyries )
A master and his disciple were walking together in the desert. The master was teaching his charge that he could always trust in God, since he was aware of everything. Night fell, and thgey decided to pitch camp. The master raised the tent, and the disciple was given the assignment of tethering the horses to a rock. But, as he stood by the rock, he thought to himself: The master is testing me. He said that God is aware of everything, and then asked me to tie up the horses. He wants to see whether or not I believe in God.
Instead of tethering the animals, he said a long prayer, and left the fate of the horses in God’s hands.
Next day, when they awoke, the horses were gone. disappointed, the disciple complained to the master, saying that he no longer believed in him, since God had not taken care of everything, and had forgotten to watch over the horses.
You are wrong, the master answered. God wanted to take care of the horses. But in order to do so, he needed to make use of your hands to tether them to the stone.
