Pen’s Bday 2k5

It has become some sort of a tradition for the last 3 years that Pen & I celebrate her bday with a little get-together pakain with friends. The pakain started last year 2002 at Lin Haus. It was a blow-out. Since it was the first pakain I think we over-budgeted then. I remember we went to SM North to buy foods and groceries. We also ordered for pansit and menudo from Mang Obet. Math faculty were there.
And of course college batchmates were also present who as usual stayed very late.
Last 2003, we went conservative and celebrated with the College of Science staff. It was very simple and quite. Just a pizza, pansit and my favorite garlic bread. The kainan was held at the College of Science undergraduate office.
We also had a cake brought in Pacita to celebrate with Pen’s family. Note that the cake wasn’t from me, it was given to Pen by one of her students.
Last year, another handaan was thrown this time at Hardin ng Rosas. It started with a night swimming somewhere at UP Village and we ended up eating lechon manok at about 2am in the morning after the swimmnig. It was an overnight stay at Hardin ng Rosas but Rheena and John had to go home.
Friends came the following day for the real celebration. We had the usual pansit, menudo, cake and ice cream. College friends stayed late and had an inuman session. This was the party where Ray became our one-man-entertainment-system. Hehe.
Since the celebration at Hardin was a weekend, Pen threw another party at Math with the faculty there.
This year, it will be quite difficult to throw another party as both of us are not connected to UP anymore. UP provided the place which we do not have now. We’ll probably just have a quick lunch/dinner at Makati this year. No chance for a party especially with the schedule Pen has at La Salle.
I’ll definitely look forward to next year’s party. That should be the party to top all party.

it’s great to have a reason to see people you like… di ba? and my birthday was usually the best reason for it. more often than not, napipilitan pumunta maski na yung mga workaholics! i like having friends around, hearing them talk and laugh, maski na nakikinig lang ako at nakikitawa. if we had more space here at home, i’d likely ask you guys to come over to waste some time

PEN happy happy happy bertday! ….hmmmm…kelan baga eksakto date? hehehe, ang alam ko lang kasi bertday mo pag naimbitahan niyo ko na kakain :d sa mga pictures na iyon, isang lang ang pansin ko, maputi talaga ngipin ko…..AJ hayaan mo, next celebration, (kung makakapunta ako), dalhin ko camera ko para LAGI ka nasa picture…hanggang sa magsawa ka! hahaha
